E91 - Kathryne Imabayashi - The Emotional World of Boys
Tuesday Mar 07, 2023
Tuesday Mar 07, 2023
This week’s guest is a Canadian educator, parent, and coach, residing in Fukuoka, Japan.
During a rich career in education spanning four decades, she has been dedicated to empowering children, parents and teachers to be their best and do their best.
A self-confessed nomad, she has experienced a variety of countries and cultures, both as a teacher and a school leader, and her perspective of the critical role parents play in the life of a child has deeply impacted her mission.
She has been on a mission for almost 25 years to understand and then share with others the emotional world of boys, and the pressures society places on them. The discord between what expectations are and how boys really feel often results in them shutting down their true self and resorting to misbehaviour, rebellion or depression.
In the last two years she has created a business (sonhoodcoaching.com), published five on-line courses, established an online community for parents raising boys (The Sonhood Society Membership), published a book and is co-authoring another, and has used social media to share her knowledge of boys (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube).

Thursday Feb 02, 2023
Thursday Feb 02, 2023
She was raised in a poor neighbourhood Southeast of Brazil, in a family of heavy drinkers. When she was 4 years old, her father had a heart attack and died. She had a rough childhood with lots of struggle and violence, sexual, physical, and mental abuse, that brought a lot of pain and fear into her life.
She started drinking heavily to numb the pain and hopelessness when she was around 12 years old. The addiction to alcohol and the destructive behaviour were a big part of her life for many years.
When she was 26 years old and with a 3-year-old daughter she finally moved to the US, she was so thirsty for a change that she taught herself English in that first year; worked in a variety of different jobs – including house-cleaner and as a prepper that became a painter at an auto body shop; all while taking night classes and being a single parent to her daughter.
Finally, after a few years of hard work, she got what she wanted “9-5 office job.” She was still drinking heavily and feeling miserable…..That’s when something started changing inside of her, I started rethinking my life and my decisions. There was this subtle voice, always reminding her of her father’s premature death
She realized that something had to change, or she would end up like her father and just the thought of her little girl losing her to alcohol was unbearable.
But I’m not going to tell you the whole story as I’m going to let her tell you how she found herself and got over her alcoholism.

E85 - Jeanne Sullivan - Be the Soul Mate You Want to Attract
Tuesday Jan 17, 2023
Tuesday Jan 17, 2023
Jeanne Sullivan stopped putting others first, and STARTED creating her living out loud and on purpose when she hit her romantic bottom--after a string of men who held her back and one couldn't be her partner-- she realized she needed help.
She learnt about law of attraction and realized she had always been an amazing manifester. The trouble was, she had focused for years on what she didn't want, which conjured chaos. What she had to learn was to release resistance and focused on what she wanted?
That shift took a lot of work and many thousands of dollars in coaches and relationship masters to figure out why she was still dimming her light for love
For two years, she overhauled her life, letting go of her resistance to love, her feelings of not being enough and the people who did not nurture her. She also decided that being 40-something was an asset, because it made her wise.
As her confidence, self-worth and vibration rose, the men she called in improved. However, they still weren’t; quite right; they were mostly cubs looking for cougars. When she turned her marketing skills on herself, she realized her "personal brand" online was out of alignment with her soul mate vision. She was playing it way too safe, presenting as vanilla instead of rocky road!
After deciding to fly her freak flag online and putting herself out there in a confident and authentic way--and got energetically aligned with her soul mate vision. She rewrote her profile and posted it, feeling the shift to her core.
The very next morning, several men who shared the similar values and goals contacted her, including her now husband
The moral to her story is, when you learn how to get aligned, the universe takes your cosmic order and delivers it to you!
She is an author of the book “Be the Soul Mate You Want to Attract” and has appeared on ABC7, NBC, Today FM, Virgin Media TV and many more…
