Growing up, sports were his life, and he played a variety of sports, including baseball, basketball, football, and soccer.
While his parents supported his passion for sports, they also emphasized the importance of academic performance. After playing college football on a scholarship and coaching he worked as a Graduate Assistant for the Middle Tennessee State football program. He draws on his experience in the classroom, weight room, and football field to explore the difference between people's actions and words and the ability to bring comfort and tribulation closer together. His writing is an extension of his drive to inspire and motivate people and he hopes to accomplish the same feat through a different discipline.
