EP101 - Elizabeth Louis - Surviving Family Trauma
Tuesday May 16, 2023
Tuesday May 16, 2023
This week's guest since she was 8 years old, has studied people’s behaviors.
It was not intentional but necessary for her survival.
She lived in a warzone. Of course, you wouldn’t necessarily know that by walking past her house, but you did if you knew her family. She also never knew when the war battles would occur. Therefore, she always had to be prepared. One way she prepared was by studying the behavior of those in her family which would mean she had a leg up and always be one step ahead of her abusers and homes toxicity.
The bottom line is her life was full of … ABUSE…VIOLENCE…FEAR! Today, she is grateful for her extremely traumatic childhood because it had a significant impact on her to be the therapist and coach who easily “gets it.”
Elizabeth Louis is a personal and professional development coach who focuses on the significance of mindset and perception. Her witty, direct, and transparent communication style educates individuals by showing them life is a choice. We can either choose to allow our brain and emotions to control us by reacting or we can choose to take control and respond, as we consciously desire.

E98 - Magic Barclay - Life with an Eating Disorder and How To Help Your Child
Tuesday Apr 25, 2023
Tuesday Apr 25, 2023
This week's guest survived a rough childhood, torn between a narcissist of a father and an unfeeling and emotionally neglectful mother, she learned that she was the only one she could depend on and always felt like 'the black sheep' and found it hard to trust anyone. In her teens, her lack of control led to anorexia and binge eating disorders. her weight was about all she could truly take charge of and by the age of 17, she had also become a binge drinker- leading to becoming an alcoholic by age 21.After transferring this lack of self-relationship to relationships with others, She found herself at the end of a string of emotionally vacuous and harmful relationships- culminating in a marriage to a narcissist and her self-esteem issues came back and again via her weight- she protected herself by becoming morbidly obese. That was the only way her body could physically be off-limits to an abusive husband (or so she thought). After 14 years of being told she was ugly, worth nothing, a horrible mother, and much more- she left! packing the kids, dogs, and cats into the car, loading a truck, and leaving town. The next 4 years saw a drawn-out legal battle which saw her lose everything except her babies. And she had to start again but the toll of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Adverse Childhood Relationship Experiences (ACREs) and her adult relationship disasters (including the one with herself), years of stress, and physical trauma to her body culminated in multiple conditions that threatened to end her life. She threw herself into study, learning about the systems of the body and how they each worked in harmony with each other, she sought help with her trauma and became truly well, truly loved
She continued her study continuing to become stronger, more able to handle anything in life, and free from the past both physically and emotionally. She is now an instructor of PNEI of Trauma, the lead practitioner at Wholistic Natural Health Australia, and the host of her own podcast A Magical Life- health, wealth, and weight loss"
